Today I am Twenty Three. Whoah. I love looking back at the past and seeing how wonderful time is. Time shapes you, help you grow and the amazing thing is that will never change. Time will always be on your side. Here I am welcoming 23. Saying yes to a whole new year full of exciting changes some planned and many unexpected ones. I am looking forward to a year of adventure.
On the car ride home from the birthday dinner of my choice (Jimmy Johns...I'm so high maintenance) Ryan and I played all the songs we had that mentioned being 23. There are quite a few believe it or not. Most of them were angsty punk music like Blink 182 or Yellocard but the one I loved the most was from Anberlin " Your so beautiful and you are only 23." My friend Rachel said it right today when she said it never makes you feel old when your only 23. I love that. I will admit today I woke up and felt OLD! I am reminded that I am NOT old. I am after all only 23.
I leave behind 22. However I am taking all the memories with me. I am truly thankful for what I've learned this past year.
